A Summer of “Vacation Moments”

Here we are mid summer and what an amazingly beautiful summer this is! This is an unusual summer for me, as I often take extended time off from my professional practice, get unplugged from email and lose myself in books at the beach. This summer is filled with a couple of program development contracts, supporting my beloved ‘s (husband) recovery from major surgery, three weddings, and welcoming a new grandchild into our family. And I am delighting in what I call “vacation moments”. sunset from my balcony

A “vacation moment” is savoring a truly fine glass of wine with my beloved on our balcony, as we watch the sun set over the Bow River. It is taking a leisurely walk in our quaint Inglewood neighbourhood.
It is cuddling on the couch watching a romantic “true story” movie – our favorites. It is gazing into the innocent eyes of my grandbabies and watching their faces light up and smile at me. It is celebrating at three beautiful and unique weddings. It is delighting in an afternoon nap. This is my summer of “vacation moments” and I love living this way. This is a practice I want to keep, and I am wondering if it is possible to have so many “vacation moments” I don’t need a vacation!

As I reflect, I realize a “vacation moment” is living in the precious sacred moment, appreciating the profound beauty, love and abundance around me and with me, and where I feel that expansion of awareness, that I wrote about in a recent blog 50 Shades of Blue.

I invite you to take on this practice of “vacation moments“. Let us know what you experience and discover with this practice by emailing us at info@womeninleadershipforlife.ca
